Teen arrested for bottle attack at Christmas celebration
A teen who allegedly stabbed another teenager with a bottle at Christchurch's Christmas in the Park last month has been arrested.
The 16-year-old was charged with wounding with intent to injure and was due to appear in Christchurch Youth Court tomorrow morning, police said.
A 15-year-old boy received multiple stab wounds, including three to the face that just missed his eye in the attack on November 27, at Hagley Park.
Police said at the time it appeared to have been racially motivated.
Investigations continue into another assault on a police officer, who spent the night in hospital after the event.
The officer suffered five hairline fractures after he was hit in the face while trying to stop a fight.
Police said alcohol had ruined the event and they were talking to the Christchurch City Council about future events being alcohol-free.
